Spiritual care is an essential part of the mission of Kibimba Hospital. Our chaplaincy ministry provides prayer, counseling, and spiritual encouragement to patients, families, and hospital staff.

In many hospitals, chaplaincy is often limited to morning devotions or occasional prayers. At Kibimba Hospital, however, we believe chaplaincy is much more than that. Chaplaincy represents the living presence of Christ within the hospital, expressing His compassion, comfort, and hope to those who are suffering.

Through this ministry, we seek to integrate spiritual care with medical care, recognizing that patients are not only physical beings but also individuals with spiritual, emotional, relational, and eternal needs. Chaplains walk alongside patients and families through moments of fear, grief, uncertainty, healing, and restoration.

Through hospital rounds, attentive listening, pastoral counseling, and compassionate presence, chaplains seek to bring the love of Christ into the daily life of the hospital. They also support caregivers and staff, recognizing that those who serve others also need encouragement and spiritual support.

Our Vision:
We hope to develop a strong chaplaincy ministry with a team of trained chaplains available day and night, providing pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. This ministry will also help nurture the spiritual life of the hospital through staff retreats, counseling, and participation in the spiritual formation of the institution.

Our long-term goal is to build a team of at least five spiritually mature chaplains, grounded in Scripture and trained in pastoral care, biblical counseling, and the theology of suffering, who are deeply committed to serving in hospital ministry.

No official oncology clinic but the outpatient Clinic provides initial assessment and referral for patients suspected of having cancer.

The Surgical Department at Kibimba Hospital has long been one of the cornerstones of the hospital’s work, serving a large number of patients from the surrounding region. Many life-saving and essential surgeries are performed each year.

Kibimba Hospital provides essential surgical services including emergency surgeries, general surgical procedures, and obstetric surgeries such as cesarean sections. Despite limited resources, the surgical team remains committed to providing safe and compassionate surgical care to those who need it most.

Our Vision:
We aim to strengthen surgical services through improved operating theatre equipment, surgical training programs, and the development of trauma and orthopedic services to better address injuries and musculoskeletal conditions in our community.

The Pediatric Department at Kibimba Hospital provides care for infants, children, and adolescents with common childhood illnesses, infections, and other medical conditions affecting children in our community.

Child health is a priority for our hospital, especially in addressing conditions such as malnutrition, neonatal complications, and preventable childhood illnesses.

Our Vision:
We aim to strengthen pediatric services by improving the management of childhood malnutrition, establishing a strong Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and developing a Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) unit to support premature and low-birth-weight babies. Training healthcare workers and improving pediatric equipment will also be essential to improving child survival.

Radiology services at Kibimba Hospital currently rely on an older analog X-ray machine, which limits imaging capacity. The hospital also has an obstetric ultrasound machine used primarily for maternal and pregnancy-related assessments.

Despite these limitations, imaging plays an essential role in diagnosis and patient care in our hospital.

Our Vision:
We aim to modernize the radiology department by introducing digital X-ray and expanded ultrasound services. Our goal is to provide basic diagnostic imaging including abdominal ultrasound, ECG, echocardiography, spectral Doppler for conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and lung ultrasound. We also hope to strengthen the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) by training clinicians so that bedside ultrasound can become an integral part of patient care.

The Medical Ward provides inpatient care for adults with a variety of medical conditions. The ward currently has about 50 beds for male and female patients.

Patients are managed by dedicated medical officers due to the limited number of specialist physicians.
